It is the longest bone in the upper limb. The supraspinatus (m. supraspinatus), the infraspinatus (m. infraspinatus) and the lesser round muscle (m. teres minor) are attached to its greater tubercle. The subscapular muscle (m. subscapularis) is attached to the lesser tubercle. In the middle of the shaft, the deltoid muscle (m. deltoideus) is attached on the lateral side, and the corobrachial muscle (m. coracobrachialis) is attached to the medial side. In the distal epicondyle on the lateral epicondyle are attached the lateral muscles of the forearm, the long radial extensor muscle of the wrist (m. extensor carpi radialis longus), the short radial extensor muscle of the wrist (m. extensor carpi radialis brevis), the invertor muscle (m. supinator), and the extensor muscle of the fingers (m. extensor digitorum). On the lateral edge of the bone, there is the brachial-radial muscle (m. brachioradialis).

It is a long bone that lies lateral to the thumb. Attached to the radial tuberosity is the biceps muscle of the shoulder (m. biceps brachii). On the lateral side of the shaft, the following muscles are attached: the pronator muscle (m. pronator teres) and the superficial flexor muscle of the fingers (m. flexor digitorum superficialis). On the front surface, in the middle of the shaft, the long flexor muscle of the thumb (m. flexor pollicis longus) is attached, and on the back surface of the shaft, there are the thumb abductor muscle (m. abductor pollicis longus) and the short extensor muscle of the thumb (m. extensor pollicis brevis). On the styloid process of the bone, there is the terminal attachment of the brachial-radial muscle (m. brachioradialis).
